How to Use Google Plus?

It has been a week since Google launched Google Plus. Last year, speculation about the creation of a new social network aka Google Me were regularly buzz but Google had cut short the rumours by announcing rather the establishment of a social division.

Today, it is clear that Google is much more than just a social class and has everything a true social network needs…
Explaining Google’s communication policy? I think Google was undone by the failure of several of its products especially in the Community (GoogleWave, GoogleBuzz, Orkut etc …) and also affecting an area dominated by Facebook, simply wanted to play the card of caution.

In my case, the result is quite successful: expecting the integration of a single social class among other services from Google, I discover a real social network and so far I must admit I ‘m rather pleasantly surprised 🙂

In recent days, so I had time to familiarize myself more with Google and I wanted to share with you my first discoveries. In the post today, so I’ll explain how to get more invitations to Google, how to use Google Plus and what are the tricks that will help you save time.

  1. How to get an invitation to Google Plus?
Access to Google Plus is currently by invitation. If you have a friend already a member of Google Plus, it should follow the following procedure to invite you:
Drafting a statute to you via the publishing of the wall
Add your e-mail fields provided for this purpose
    Click the “Share”
You will receive an invitation to your e-mail and you will just follow the link that is included in the message.
Good news: Google Plus is currently being deployed. The social network should be available soon for everyone without invitation. For those who have not received an invitation in the day, patience: you no longer need it very soon … 😉
  2. How to Use Google Plus?
    2.1. Enter your Profile
The profile is where you have information about your bio, contact information and the sites on which you are present.
Your profile is public and it must contain your full name and sex. If desired, it can be indexed by search engines.
In addition to the Bio tab, the Profile also has four other tabs:
Posts: Display information you have shared
Photos: The photo of your profile and your albums (Picasa, upload, mobile)
    Videos: All for your videos
    2.2. Create your circles
The circles allow you to organize your contacts into groups. By default, there are four circles:
Family: “Your close and extended family”
Friends: “Your real friends, the ones you feel comfortable sharing private details with”
    Knowledge
Followed: “People You Do not Know Personally, you add them to find interesting posts”
You can create new circles by clicking on the gray circle on “Post contacts here to create a circle” which appears on the page for the tab “Circles”.
The circles give you the opportunity to share your content according to their degree of confidentiality. For example, you share your wall with your professional circles and you provide the photos just for your family.
When you add someone to your circle, the person receives a notification, but he is not informed of the name of the circle, circles to which he was added.
How to add contacts to your circles? There are three methods:
    The tab “Find and invite”
    Suggestions of contacts
And of course the invitations by e-mail
The interface to add a contact is very spontaneous. You select the thumbnail information of one or more of your contacts and you drag them to one of the circles.
You can change the name of the circle, add a description, see the flow of the circle (to view the information posted by its members) and delete it by clicking the circle to configure according to your wish.
To remove or block someone, you select its thumbnail in the circle and click on “Delete” or “Block” in the menu “other actions”.

Tips: Although it is nice to create circles and manage contacts, take the good habit from the beginning to create relevant circles. Whatever the platform used, the categorization of people (for confidentiality) can quickly become a painful stress when you need to conduct re-organizations.
